Servicing, faults and parts
How should I store my ozone sauna if I am not going to use it for months?
Before a long break, get the sauna dry: empty the water bottle, clear the water from under the footrest, wipe the sauna out and let it dry fully. Switch the sauna off first, then the oxygen concentrator, then unplug at the wall. Store it indoors, dry and dust-free.
The steps below follow from the normal shut-down and maintenance routine. For a storage period of several months, particularly for a clinic unit, check the detail with us first.
Before storage
- Run the sauna dry of standing water. Empty the water bottle at the back and clear every trace of water from under the footrest.
- Wipe the interior down and leave the doors open until it is completely dry. Sealing moisture into a closed sauna invites problems.
- Give it a proper clean with soap, warm water and a soft cloth, then run a short ozone cycle with no one inside to clear the cleaning residue before the final shut-down.
- Shut down in order: sauna off, then oxygen concentrator, then unplug at the wall socket.
- Clean the concentrator’s filters before storing it, and store it dry and dust-free rather than under a dust sheet that traps humidity.
Moving it into store
Roll the sauna on its four castors and lock them once it is in place. Do not tilt it on its sides or backwards. Keep it indoors, dry and out of direct sun — a spare room rather than a garage or outbuilding. We do not offer storage facilities for purchased items.
Coming back into use
Before the first session back, check the pipework for perished, kinked or disconnected tubing and check the door seals. Rubber and plastic in the ozone path age even when the machine is idle, because only ozone-resistant materials such as stainless steel, glass and PTFE are unaffected by long exposure. Then fill with fresh distilled water, run a preheat — allow 10 to 20 minutes after a long gap — and run the glove test at the ozone outlet to confirm ozone production before you put a client in the sauna.
Nothing about a stored sauna is self-cleaning. Clean it before it goes away and clean it again before it comes back.
