Running a spa or clinic
What does each ozone sauna session actually cost me to run?
Budget for electricity, distilled water, laundry, cleaning materials, staff minutes and booking commission. A sauna and its oxygen concentrator draw 1,750 W together, so a 30-minute session uses under 0.9 kWh at full draw and less in practice. There is no gas cost: the concentrator makes oxygen from room air.
Electricity. Total draw for the sauna and its oxygen concentrator together is 1,750 W. Power: 220 V / 10 A. For the 110 V versions (ordered from the international section): Red Light 110 V / 13.5 A; Standard and Deluxe 110 V / 11 A. The oxygen concentrator runs on its own separate socket (300–450 W). A 110 V sauna needs its own dedicated circuit. Before delivery, ask a qualified electrician to confirm that your circuit and socket can carry the sauna’s rated current continuously. At full draw a 30-minute session is about 0.9 kWh, and real consumption is lower, because automatic temperature control cycles the element rather than running it flat out. Put a plug-in energy meter on both appliances, run one full session, and multiply the measured kWh by your tariff.
Water. Verified distilled water only. A supplied water bottle covers four to eight sessions, depending on your temperature setting — a hotter sauna makes more steam and uses more water. No descaling is required when the correct water is used.
Oxygen. There is no gas bill. An oxygen concentrator does not store gas; it separates oxygen out of room air and delivers it continuously, and the on-board generator converts that to ozone. Our concentrators run at 5 litres per minute at 93% (±3%) purity. The concentrator needs its filters kept clean, but there is no cylinder to refill.
Consumables and laundry. At minimum a towel to close the neck opening, a towel for the wipe-down, and cleaning materials for the weekly soap-and-water clean.
Commission. A flat 15% per booking on theBooking.site, credit-card transaction fees included.
Labour. Even at intermittent attendance, allocate staff minutes per session — roughly fifteen across setup, changeover and cleaning.
Longer-term replacement. Regular scheduled servicing is not required when a unit is kept clean and well maintained. Set aside for the parts that do have a life: the ozone generator runs for more than 3,500 hours, the concentrator for 15,000 hours and the LEDs on the Red Light model for 30,000 hours.
