Operating your sauna
How do I programme a session on my ozone sauna's digital display?
Every Salvagente ozone sauna is controlled from a display built into the door, where you set the session time, the temperature and one of ten ozone levels. Preheat the empty sauna with the doors closed first. The operating manual for your model has the button-by-button detail.
The controls
The integrated electronics run the whole system from the door. The Standard has a digital display with 10-level ozone adjustment; the Deluxe a 4.3-inch full-colour TFT display with the same ten levels; the Red Light model adds status indicator lights for ready, session complete and attention needed, and an automatic light cutoff when the doors open. All have automatic temperature control, so you set a target and the sauna regulates the heat.
Button sequences differ by model. The operating manual supplied with every sauna carries them.
The order of a session
- Water bottle full, spills wiped, wall socket on, oxygen concentrator on, sauna on.
- Preheat the empty sauna with the doors closed while you prepare the client. The first preheat of the day, or after a long gap, takes 10 to 20 minutes depending on the ambient temperature of the room; back-to-back sessions need much less.
- Set the session time. A standard session is around 30 minutes.
- Set the temperature. The sauna heats two ways at once — convective heating, warmth carried to the skin by moving steam, and radiant heating, far infrared warming the body directly without heating the air between — so the number on the display and how hot a client feels are not the same thing. Reduce the heat immediately if a client says they are uncomfortably hot.
- Set the ozone level, from 1 to 10, based on that client’s experience rather than on what you would run for yourself.
- Seat the client, close the doors, cover the neck opening and start.
Write the result down. A session record — the settings you run for a given client, and how they change across a course — is what makes the next session a continuation rather than a fresh guess.
