Questions (14)
- How do I set up my ozone sauna for the first time?Stand your ozone sauna in a ventilated room of at least 2 m by 2 m near a suitable wall socket, fill the bottle at the back with verified distilled water, connect the oxygen concentrator, then switch on at the wall, start the concentrator and switch the sauna on last. The operating manual for your model has the detail.
- How do I connect the oxygen concentrator to my ozone sauna?Stand the oxygen concentrator on a dry, level surface beside the ozone sauna with clear air around it, run its oxygen tube to the sauna's ozone generator inlet, and switch the concentrator on before the sauna.
- What is the correct order to switch on my ozone sauna?Check the bottle at the back of the ozone sauna holds distilled water and wipe up any spills, especially near the oxygen concentrator and the wiring. Switch the wall socket on, start the oxygen concentrator and confirm it is running, and only then switch the sauna on.
- Can I run my ozone sauna and oxygen concentrator on an inverter or generator during load shedding? South Africa onlyYes, on an inverter. A Salvagente ozone sauna and its oxygen concentrator draw 1,750 W in total, and a 3 kVA or larger inverter will run both. A generator of that size can run them too, but we do not recommend it, because generator supply fluctuates.
- What type of water should I use in my ozone sauna?Use only verified distilled water in a Salvagente ozone steam sauna. Distilled water leaves nothing behind when it boils off, so no descaling is needed. Tap water, spring water, softened water and bottled water with minerals added back all leave scale in the steam side and should not be used.
- How much water does my ozone sauna use, and how do I refill it?An ozone sauna draws its steam water from a bottle at the back of the sauna. Refill it with verified distilled water before you switch on. One bottle covers four to eight sessions depending on the temperature you run. Between sessions, also clear the water that collects under the footrest.
- How do I move my ozone sauna safely?Switch the ozone sauna off in order and unplug it, take out the water bottle, clear the water under the footrest, disconnect the oxygen concentrator, unlock the castors and roll the sauna with the doors closed. Never tilt it on its sides or backwards. A Standard sauna weighs 80 kg, so use two people.
- How do I programme a session on my ozone sauna's digital display?Every Salvagente ozone sauna is controlled from a display built into the door, where you set the session time, the temperature and one of ten ozone levels. Preheat the empty sauna with the doors closed first. The operating manual for your model has the button-by-button detail.
- What do the 10 ozone levels on my sauna mean, and which one should I use?The ten levels on a Salvagente ozone sauna step the generator's output by 10 per cent each, from 10 per cent to the full 500 milligrams per hour. Oxygen flow stays constant at 2 litres per minute throughout. Start new users low and raise the level gradually as they build up sessions.
- How do I seat a client and get them in and out of the ozone sauna?Set the seat height before the client arrives, help them step in and sit with their head out of the top opening, then close the doors and cover the neck opening with a towel. Stay within earshot throughout, and support them as they step out at the end.
- What should I do at the end of an ozone sauna session, and in what order do I switch everything off?Switch the ozone sauna off first, then the oxygen concentrator, then unplug at the wall; the wrong order can damage the sauna. Help the client out, keep them warm and let them rest for about 20 minutes. Then wipe the sauna down, clear the water under the footrest and reset the towels.
- How often should I clean my ozone sauna, and how?Wipe the ozone sauna down with a clean towel after every use. Once a week, or more often if you run many sessions, clean it properly with soap, warm water and a soft cloth, concentrating on the seat, doors and floor. Then run ozone for 15 minutes.
- Do I need an ozone destructor for my ozone sauna, or is ventilation enough?Normal room ventilation is sufficient. From nearly twenty years of operating these saunas, our position is that an open door and window, or an extractor fan in a small treatment room, deal with what escapes, and that an ozone destructor costing thousands of dollars is not justified.
- What should I check on my ozone sauna daily, weekly and monthly?Daily on a Salvagente ozone sauna: a full bottle of distilled water, no spilt water near the oxygen concentrator, ozone confirmed by the glove test, a towel wipe after each client and the footrest water cleared. Weekly: a soap and warm water clean, then 15 minutes of ozone. Monthly: pipes, seals, castors and filters.
