How do I connect the oxygen concentrator to my ozone sauna?

Stand the oxygen concentrator on a dry, level surface beside the ozone sauna with clear air around it, run its oxygen tube to the sauna's ozone generator inlet, and switch the concentrator on before the sauna.

The concentrator draws room air over a molecular sieve — granules with pores sized to hold nitrogen back and let oxygen through — and delivers concentrated oxygen to the sauna’s built-in ozone generator, a corona discharge cell in which a high-voltage field splits oxygen molecules (O2) so that some fragments recombine as ozone (O3). Nothing is filtered on the way, so whatever is in the feed gas ends up in the output. That is why the oxygen source matters.

Unless we have specified otherwise for your order, every concentrator we supply is a 5 l/min unit at 93% ±3% oxygen purity.

The oxygen concentrator supplied with the sauna is a medical device in its own right. The model we currently supply is FDA-cleared and CE marked. The FDA clearance applies to the concentrator, not to the sauna.

Connecting it

  • Place the concentrator where it can breathe: not in a cupboard or hard against a wall, and away from spilt water.
  • Push the oxygen tube fully onto the sauna’s ozone inlet fitting. Do not overtighten the fitting that holds the ozone pipe inside the sauna — that is a common cause of no ozone.
  • Route the tube so it cannot be pinched, kinked, stood on or pulled when the sauna moves.
  • Switch the concentrator on and confirm it is running before switching the sauna on. Running the sauna for a prolonged period without the concentrator on will damage and burn out the ozone generator.

Flow rate

The oxygen feed is a constant 2 litres per minute — it does not change with the ozone level, so there is nothing to reset between clients. At that feed, a 500 mg/h generator brings the whole air volume inside the sauna to about 47 ppm of ozone, and each of the ten display levels steps the generator’s output by 10 per cent.

If too little oxygen passes over the generator, the sauna sounds its air-flow alarm. Check the concentrator is running and the tubing is clear, and increase the flow if it has been turned down.
