Safety, contraindications and screening
Can I use an ozone sauna if I have a pacemaker or metal implants?
Ozone therapy is prohibited if you have a pacemaker, because the far infrared in the sauna might interfere with it, and that covers every model in the range. For any other implant — metal plates, joint replacements, stents, insulin pumps — ask the specialist who manages the device before you book.
The pacemaker exclusion sits alongside the general exclusion for heart conditions, and the stated reason is interference from far infrared — the long-wavelength part of the infrared band, which is radiant heat rather than a radio-frequency field — rather than anything to do with ozone. Follow it regardless of the mechanism: a pacemaker usually indicates a heart condition, which is separately excluded, and heat is a cardiovascular load in its own right.
The exclusion applies across the range. Every current model — Standard, Deluxe and Red Light — is built around 12 micron far infrared, so there is no version of the sauna the pacemaker rule does not cover, and nothing here should be read as clearance on a particular model.
Other implants. Joint replacements, plates and screws, stents, coils, insulin pumps, cochlear implants, contraceptive implants and port catheters are not covered by a blanket rule in either direction. Heat and metal is a routine question in any sauna or infrared setting, and the absence of a named exclusion is not a green light.
If a client discloses any implanted device, the safe path is: do not book the session, refer them to the specialist who manages the device, and ask us in writing. Record the outcome on the intake form.
