Getting started and your first session
Why are there dirty marks on my towel after an ozone sauna session?
Marks on the towel after an ozone steam sauna session are residue left behind by heavy sweating, and they are normal. Many clients notice them on a white towel. They are what clients observe, not a measurement or a diagnosis.
You sweat a great deal in 30 minutes of steam, and sweat carries more than water. Residue on a white towel after a session is one of the things clients most often notice.
What the marks are. Sweat, and what sweat carries with it. Sauna material sometimes calls this the sudorific effect, a dated word that simply means causing sweat. How much you sweat reflects the heat and humidity in the sauna and how hydrated and heat-acclimatised you are.
Towel marks are not a test or a diagnosis. If something about your health is worrying you, speak to your doctor.
Practical housekeeping: a fresh towel each session, washed after every use, and wipe the sauna down afterwards.
