Operating your sauna
What is the correct order to switch on my ozone sauna?
Check the bottle at the back of the ozone sauna holds distilled water and wipe up any spills, especially near the oxygen concentrator and the wiring. Switch the wall socket on, start the oxygen concentrator and confirm it is running, and only then switch the sauna on.
Switching on in the wrong order can damage the sauna, so it is worth learning properly.
The sequence
- Water first. Make sure the bottle at the back of the sauna is filled with verified distilled water.
- Dry everything. Clean up any water that has spilt, particularly near the oxygen concentrator or the wiring.
- Wall socket on.
- Oxygen concentrator on. Wait until it is running and delivering oxygen.
- Sauna on, last.
Shutdown is the reverse: sauna off, then concentrator, then unplug at the outlet.
Why the order matters
The ozone generator — a corona discharge cell, which makes ozone by passing a high-voltage field through oxygen — sits inside the sauna and needs oxygen flowing over it from the oxygen concentrator. Running the sauna for a prolonged period without the concentrator on will damage and burn out the ozone generator, and can cause further burn damage. This is the single most expensive mistake an owner can make with our equipment, and it is entirely avoidable.
If the water is low
Low or empty water sounds a warning and pauses the session. Switch off, refill the bottle with distilled water and start again rather than trying to run through it.
If the air-flow alarm sounds
The air-flow alarm means too little oxygen is passing over the generator. Check the concentrator is switched on and running, increase the flow if it has been turned down, and check the tube for kinks, blockages or a disconnection. If it will not clear, stop the session and contact us.
The operating manual for your model carries the full start-up routine.
