Is red light therapy on its own enough, or do I need an ozone sauna?
Red light therapy on its own is photobiomodulation only: light at specific wavelengths, with no heat, no sweat and no ozone. Our Red Light ozone sauna combines visible light, near and far infrared, ozone and steam in one cabinet.
A red light panel and our Red Light ozone sauna do different jobs.
A panel delivers light at specific wavelengths. It is compact, sessions take minutes and it fits in a bedroom. The studies we list are on our red light studies page, which carries the links on to the sources themselves.
What a panel does not do is heat you, make you sweat or deliver ozone. If whole-body heating, sweating or ozone is what you are after, light alone will not give you that.
Our Red Light ozone sauna, the flagship of the range, is built so you do not have to choose: seven modalities in one cabinet. It runs visible blue, green and red light from 460 nanometres (nm), near infrared at 850 nm from a full-body-length LED array, and far infrared under the same 12 micron rating the other models carry, plus ozone and steam. ’12 micron’ names a band, not the emitter’s peak wavelength. There is no ultraviolet output.
On eye protection, the difference from a panel is the geometry. In our sauna your head is outside the enclosure and away from any direct line of light, and the lights switch off as soon as the doors are opened, which is why goggles are not part of the configuration.
Which suits you depends on which modalities you will use. Full specifications and current pricing are on the Red Light product page.
