How many ozone sauna sessions can one room turn over in a day?

A session runs about 30 minutes. The first preheat of the day takes 10 to 20 minutes depending on the room; after that allow roughly five minutes for the client to dress and leave, five to wipe down and reset, and five for the next client to get in. The sauna is built for back-to-back sessions.

The turnaround, in minutes:

  • 10 to 20 minutes for the first preheat of the day, or after a long gap between sessions. It depends on the room’s ambient air temperature.
  • 5 minutes for the client to get out and dress.
  • 5 minutes to wipe the sauna down with a clean towel, clear all the water from under the footrest and reset the towels. Clearing the water matters: left there, it runs to the front and the sauna will not heat properly on the next session.
  • 5 minutes for the next client to undress and get into the sauna.

Water bottles are refilled every four to eight sessions rather than every session, depending on your temperature setting, so that is not usually part of the turnaround.

In practice that makes a 45-minute slot realistic once the sauna is warm, and an hour comfortable if you want changing time either side. A nine-hour trading day holds nine slots at an hour each, more if you run tighter. The sauna is designed to run back to back.

Do not shorten the turnaround on the strength of the ozone. Every model has disinfection options, always run with no one inside the sauna, and the Red Light has an automatic ozone disinfection cycle, started with one tap and run with no one inside the sauna, between sessions; ozone is a recognised disinfectant. It is a useful feature, not a minute you can take out of the schedule: the wipe-down remains the routine clean, and an inspector will ask about your cleaning routine rather than the feature list.

Capacity is rarely the constraint. Even a busy room rarely runs at physical capacity. Model demand first and capacity second. A booking system that takes payment at the time of booking will do more for realised throughput than shaving minutes off turnaround.
