Choosing an ozone sauna

What does the Red Light ozone sauna add over the Deluxe?

The Red Light ozone sauna is our flagship: seven modalities in one cabinet. It adds near infrared at 850 nm and visible red, blue and green light from 460 nm to the ozone, steam and far infrared the Standard and Deluxe carry. Its full specification and price are on the Red Light product page.

These studies are listed for reference only. They are not claims about what our saunas do.

Seven modalities in one cabinet: ozone, steam, far infrared, near infrared and visible red, blue and green light. The Standard and Deluxe carry the first three.

The light

Wavelength — the distance between one peak of a light wave and the next, in nanometres (nm) — is the specification that matters:

  • Visible blue, green and red light, starting at 460 nm
  • Near infrared at 850 nm, from a full-body-length LED array
  • Far infrared at 12,000 nm. A micron (µm) is a thousandth of a millimetre, or a thousand nanometres — the same 12 micron rating quoted on the Standard and Deluxe, in another unit

The spectrum runs from 460 nm to 12,000 nm, with no ultraviolet output.

The cabinet

An oxygen concentrator is included — it sieves nitrogen from room air to feed the ozone generator — along with an automatic ozone disinfection cycle, started with one tap on the screen and run with no one inside; the sauna shows a warning for the cycle. Steam is integrated, high-output and precisely controlled. The sauna also carries a customisable brand screen, magnetic door closure, status lights, a slide-out maintenance tray and automatic light cutoff on door opening.

Dimensions, weight, wattage, user weight limit and current price are on the Red Light product page.

Eye protection

You do not need goggles in our sauna, and the reason is the layout. Your head stays outside the cabinet for the whole session, away from any direct line of light, and the lights switch off the moment the doors are opened. That is a different situation from sitting in front of a panel with the light in your face.

Materials

The gas path uses 304 and 316 stainless steel and silicone.

The light works by photobiomodulation — light too weak to heat tissue changing how cells behave. Our studies pages list the research on each band, with links to the sources.
