Running a spa or clinic
How should I price an ozone sauna session at my spa?
Your session price is yours to set. Price the ten-session course as your main product and a single session as a premium trial, set your floor at what the room already earns, put theBooking.site's flat 15% commission inside the price rather than on top, and display prices inclusive of tax.
A method that travels between markets:
- Sell the course, not the session. The traditional course is ten sessions. Price the course as the headline product and price a single session at a premium, so it reads as a trial rather than as the cheap option.
- Set your floor at opportunity cost. If the room is currently idle, your floor is variable cost. If it currently earns money from another treatment, your floor is what that treatment cleared per hour.
- Put commission inside the price. On theBooking.site the fee is a flat 15% per booking, with credit-card transaction fees included. That comes off the top of every online booking, so build it in rather than absorbing it.
- Display tax-inclusive prices. TheBooking.site’s terms make outlets responsible for displaying accurate prices including VAT or local tax, and for honouring the displayed price.
- Take payment at booking. For a 30-minute slot with a fixed turnaround cost, a no-show is a total loss. On theBooking.site the client pays when the booking is made, and a no-show either reschedules or forfeits the payment.
Where a premium is defensible. The Red Light model carries seven modalities in one cabinet — blue, green and red light, near infrared, far infrared, steam and ozone. The light side of the Red Light model is described as photobiomodulation: the use of visible or near-infrared light at levels that do not heat tissue, in the expectation of a biological response. Price the breadth of the menu, the room time and the equipment consolidation — the things a client can see for themselves.
One caution on packaging. TheBooking.site’s terms state that discounted or on-sale services may not be moved, rebooked or cancelled by the customer. Deep-discounting an introductory session changes the customer’s rights, so decide that deliberately rather than by default.
